Protecting yourself online doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. A few simple habits can greatly reduce your risk of falling victim to cybercrime. While you can never be completely “hackproof,” you can become resilient in the online world.
At the heart of online safety are essential behaviors that your PGEC IT department would like to share with you to help shield your personal information, protect your online accounts, and keep your devices secure:
Don’t open links from emails that you do not recognize and always question to open unexpected attachments.
Be aware of visiting websites to download or stream movies a lot of times they carry malware/viruses.
Remember to change passwords of online accounts as often as possible.
Create a strong password for your network that have multiple numbers, letters, and special characters.
